CRE Video Mapping Study
The 2009 CRE Video Mapping Study is custom research funded by the Council for Research Excellence (CRE), an independent organization established and financially supported by the Nielsen Company.
The objectives of the research were to develop an in-depth understanding of consumers’ exposure to media throughout the day as they participate in their daily activities.
The CRE Video Mapping Study was designed as a ‘Day in the Life’ study, in which consumers were followed by observers with computer assisted devices that allowed them to easily record all of a consumer’s activities throughout the day. The study was executed by Ball State University’s Center for Media Design and Sequent Partners.
376 consumers across 6 DMA’s were observed on two separate days in the spring and fall of 2008. Consumers’ media exposure, life activities and where they spent their time were captured by the observers.
This study includes exposure to digital place-based media.
